  • Building Bright Futures

    Building Bright Futures is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization and the designated Vermont Early Childhood Advisory Council to the Governor, Administration and Legislature in Vermont. BBF is the statewide nonprofit, public-private partnership focused on improving the well-being of young children and families by improving the systems that serves them. BBF improves child and family well-being through three program areas: Community, Data and Policy.

  • Children’s Integrated Services (CIS)

    CIS offers early intervention, family support, and prevention services that help ensure the healthy development and well-being of children, pre-birth to age 5. Services are available at low or no cost to families. CIS services are family-centered, child-focused, and delivered through a network of providers throughout Vermont.
    NEKLS is the district provider of CIS. The local coordinator for the Caledonia/Southern Essex region is Erin Dobbin.

  • CIS/Part C Early Intervention (EI)

    Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA): Part C – Early Intervention program for infants and toddlers provides a broad array of services to children with special needs, birth through three years of age, and their families. Families who are eligible for services through the IDEA – Part C early intervention services include children ages birth to three years old who are experiencing developmental delays or who have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay. By assisting in the coordination of locally available services, Children’s Integrated Services is working to ensure that Vermont’s young children and their families have access to the widest possible array of early intervention services.

    NEKCA’s two Parent Child Centers are part of the Vermont network of 15 Parent Child Centers that help families make sure children get off to a healthy start. Services include almost anything that families need: early childhood services, home visits to families with young children, playgroups, parent education, parent support, and information and referral.
